In this day and age, the rise of mobile gaming is certainly noticeable. This method of gaming has always been considered inferior to other platforms. We have come to a point where mobile gaming has grown into one of the biggest gaming markets in the world. Even though most of the games on this platform seem to be “low-quality”.

What the Future Holds

Let’s look at what the future has in store for mobile gaming. One of the main “problems” this industry has had was the lack of quality and high-end games. This is changing day by day now. On this year alone Riot games have entered the mobile gaming industry, they introduced Legends of Runeterra a card game with the same champions as League of Legends. Teamfight Tactics was another release from them. Also League of Legends Wild Rift the mobile version of LoL had an alpha testing on June 2020. There are also rumors that Riot is bringing Valorant on mobile as well.

So with this, we can see that companies in this case Riot are taking a big interest in this market. But Riot isn’t the only one that is coming for the mobile market. The new Diablo game will be only for mobile, this goes to show how much importance the mobile gaming market has.

And these are only a few of the games that are coming to mobile. Another crucial part of the mobile gaming market is the mobile part. Smartphones nowadays are becoming very powerful. So much so that Apple is making laptops powered by mobile CPUs.

PC vs Mobile

If we compare the PC gaming world and the mobile gaming one we can see a lot of differences. For example, if you want to have a good gaming experience on PC you have to spend a lot of money and you might not be able to play all the games out there. On the other hand with a flagship phone, you can play anything you want. You might make the argument that your PC is more versatile and has more functions. But on this day and age, you can do almost anything you want with your smartphone.

Another thing that looks bright in the future of mobile gaming is ESports. On this part, the PC world is miles ahead but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t a competitive scene for mobile games. A lot of games have shown the potential that mobile ESports has. Among the games with the biggest ESports scene, we can mention PUBG Mobile, Clash Royale, Brawl Stars, and many more.

Game Emulation

Emulation is also a big part of mobile gaming, for all the retro gamers out there, you can have a lot of games emulated on your device and as your smartphone gets more powerful you will be able to play even more games.

Cloud Gaming

With the increase of Cloud-Gaming, mobile has become a very valuable option for on the go gaming. With services like Google Stadia, GeForce Now, PlayStation Now, etc. you have a very big variety so you can play all the games you want on that small screen of your phone. Also, 5G will make this process even smoother.

In conclusion, mobile gaming looks to be a very promising field for the future. Even though it might be able to replace PC and console gaming its getting close to it. I can’t say anything for sure, but a bright future lies ahead and we can only wait and see how this will turn out. With the major players that are coming on this market, only good things can happen.
