As the USA continues its “war” against Huawei, the UK government came out with a final decision. They stated that they will allow “high risk” vendors to help build the 5G network under strict restrictions.
Huawei and ZTE are considered “high risk” companies from the USA and are also banned there.
Some off these restrictions are:
- High-risk vendors to be excluded from sensitive ‘core’ parts of 5G and gigabit-capable networks
- 35 percent cap on high-risk vendor access to non-sensitive parts of the network
- NCSC issues guidance to operators on implementing decision with legislation introduced at the earliest opportunity
