One of the most important updates Hearthstone probably will get for a while was announced at Blizzcon 2019. Its premiere strategy card game gets an expansion that brings in fresh new content and the highlight for most people, the new game mode.
Descent of Dragons will feature dragons from Azeroth’s storied history; the newest expansion features 135 new cards for players to experiment with. Alongside that comes a new Hero Card featuring Galakrond, utilizing the new Invoke cards. Players can level up the dragon multiple times for Galakrond to reach his final form.
Descent of Dragons will be available for players starting December 10.
On top of the new expansion, Blizzard announced a new game mode called ‘Battlegrounds.’ Featuring eight-player matches, and where Hearthstone players will duel opponents until only one is left standing. Following the trend of ‘autochess’ games genres, like Dota Underlords or Teamfight Tactics by Riot Games.
For everyone who pre-purchased Descent of Dragons, attended BlizzCon 2019, or bought the Virtual Ticket will have access to the new mode starting November 5. In comparison, everyone else will have to wait until the game enters open beta.
